Domestic Dispute Suspect Killed in Walnut Ridge Police Shooting

Officers say a woman was shot by the suspect before police fired at him. There was no further word on her condition.
WALNUT RIDGE, AR - A domestic dispute suspect is dead after a police shooting.

Walnut Ridge Police Chief Richy Thatcher says a woman was shot by the suspect before officers fired at him.

The incident happened around 2 Wednesday morning along Highway 34.

Police say they responded to a 911 call about a domestic dispute involving a man and woman in separate vehicles who were driving down Highway 34 towards Walnut Ridge. The man reportedly stopped his vehicle in front of the woman's vehicle, shot her and then shot himself. After that, according to police, he turned towards officers who had arrived on the scene and was shot and killed. 

The woman was taken to a Jonesboro hospital before being air-lifted to a Memphis hospital. There's no further word on her condition.

The Arkansas State Police is investigating the incident. They have not yet released the names of those involved.
