Daughter Charged With Murder in Father's Death

It happened in the 11500 block of David O. Dodd Rd. on the city's west side Monday night. Police say the suspect told her mother by phone that she had killed her father.
Update (Aug. 26):
LITTLE ROCK, AR - A woman is in jail charged with first degree murder after her father is found dead.

It happened shortly before 9 Monday night in the 11500 block of David O. Dodd Road on the city's west side.

That's where police found the victim's body on the floor and blood nearby. The incident report says the body was wrapped in a blanket covered in dried blood. His name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Police were first notified of the incident by the victim's former wife, who met them at a gas station on Colonel Glenn Road. That's where she asked officers to check on the welfare of her daughter and her ex-husband. The woman told officers that her daughter had told her over the phone that she had killed her father.

The arrest record for Jacklynn Kayla Murphy, 23, of Little Rock, notes hold requests for Cabot Police and the Perry County Sheriff's Office, along with unspecified failure to appear charges.

LITTLE ROCK, AR - We have just learned from Little Rock Police that there has been a homicide in the 11500 block of David O. Dodd Road.

According to police, they got a report from a woman who said her daughter had called and told her she had killed her father.

Police say the 23-year-old woman is in custody.
