RUSSELLVILLE, AR - Hundreds of high school seniors have paid a visit to an Arkansas college they're interested in attending.
They gathered with their parents today on the campus of Arkansas Tech University (ATU) in Russellville for its annual "Time-Out for Tech" event.
The preview day is designed to allow prospective students to learn more about ATU.
Activities on the agenda included an opening session that featured a drawing for three tuition scholarships to ATU for the fall 2014 semester.
A meet-and-greet with faculty from the academic program that interests them the most followed the opening session.
There were also residence hall tours, a chance to meet with representatives from student organizations and sessions with staff members from such campus entities as financial aid, athletics and Greek life.
All students attending Time-Out for Tech received a free t-shirt and a photo opportunity with campus ambassador Jerry the Bulldog.
"Time-Out for Tech" is the largest academic preview day and is hosted by the Office of Admissions. Invitations are mailed in December and registration is required.
