LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The pending reconstruction of the Broadway Bridge will not only impact daily traffic, but will also affect one of the city's biggest events of the year.
The Little Rock Marathon, an annual event that crosses the bridge, will have to change its course in 2015.
Race Director Gina Pharis says the new route will have more twists and turns.
"So we are going to zigzag downtown Little Rock for the first 13 miles and then head out to the river as we've done in the past, and then come back into the River Market area for a finish," Pharis said.
The new route was certified today and Pharis says it will be more spectator friendly.
