28 Critical Services Agencies in Arkansas Receive Special Funding

Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance announces significant investment by the Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation.
LITTLE ROCK, AR (News release) - Twenty-eight organizations have received $714,000 in the last eighteen months from the Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation of Dallas to provide critical services in Arkansas communities. The King Foundation provides grants in the areas of aging, indigent people, the arts, children and youth, education and nonprofit capacity.

“We are grateful for the commitment the King Foundation has made to financially support the diverse missions of Arkansas nonprofits,” said Stephanie Meincke, MSW, President of the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance. “Not only did the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance receive a grant, but so did eight of our members. These grants will help our members expand their reach and impact throughout their communities.”

Diane LaFollette with the Mid-America Science Museum in Hot Springs plans to use their grant funds to provide science education outreach and teacher professional development in Ouachita, Nevada, Little River and Hempstead Counties. Centers for Youth and Families, received a grant to fund a Behavioral Health Home at their current psychiatric residential facility for youth ages 5-17 located in Monticello, Arkansas.
