Contest Looks for "The Song of Arkansas"

The winner gets $2,000 plus the chance to record the song.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Putting your love for the Natural State into words and music could put a chunk of change in your pocket.

The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism is looking for musicians to write, play and sing original songs about Arkansas.

A panel of Arkansas celebrity musicians, including Sonny Burgess and Little Rock radio icon Bob Robbins will pick 5 finalists. An online vote in February by the public will then decide the winner.

The winner gets $2,000 plus the chance to record the song, make a music video and perform at the Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Rogers in March.

The contest is open through Jan. 24.
