Community Matters: Harmony Health Celebrates 5 Years of Changing Lives

The Harmony Health Clinic is a place where it doesn't matter how little money you have.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- A nonprofit organization dedicated to providing critical care to some of the least fortunate among us celebrates its five-year anniversary this week.

Harmony Health Clinic has been changing people's lives for the better.

"We save lives here, we found cases of undiagnosed cancer that we've been able to detect and get treated," says Eddie Pannell, executive director at the clinic.

The Harmony Health Clinic is a place where it doesn't matter how little money you have.

"Everything here is free," Pannell says.

With a staff of volunteer doctors, nurses, dentists and pharmacists, Harmony Clinic offers care to those who otherwise wouldn't have it.

"Our denture program on the dental side is allowing a lot of our patients that have terrible teeth that have to have full or partial dentures get their smiles back and get back into the job market," Pannell says.

In the five years since it's creation, Harmony Clinic has treated 3,000 patients, providing $5 million in care.

But Pannell says the volunteers get just as much out of it as the people they care for.

"We've helped a lot of people, we've saved a lot of lives and we're going to be here for a long time to come," he says.

This week Harmony Health is celebrating the anniversary the only way it knows how: by treating patients and trying to improve lives.
