Championship Play Resumes at Home Tonight for Arkansas Travelers

Travs and San Antonio are tied 1-1 in best-of-five series.
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR (Travs News Release) - The Texas League Championship Series shifts to Dickey-Stephens Park on Friday night when the Arkansas Travelers host the San Antonio Missions in game three of the best-of-five series. The series is tied at 1-1 with each club pulling out a 1-0 victory at Wolff Stadium in San Antonio.

Dickey-Stephens Park will play host to games three and four with a fifth-and-deciding game also to be played in North Little Rock if necessary.

Game three is set for Friday night at 7:10 p.m. with the Travs sending Mark Sappington to the hill against former Angels minor league pitcher and current Mission Donn Roach. Sappington (12-5, 3.45 between Inland Empire and Arkansas) earned the win in last Friday's series clinching 5-2 victory over the Tulsa Drillers allowing two runs in five innings. Roach, who earned a win in all three starts he made against the Travs during the regular season, allowed two runs in 6.2 innings for a no-decision against Corpus Christi during the first round.

Game four will be played at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday night. The pitching matchup features the red hot Lay Batista for the Travelers, who compiled a 2.06 ERA in his last nine starts, against San Antonio lefty Juan Oramas.

If the series needs a fifth-and-deciding game it will be played at Dickey-Stephens Park on Sunday at 2:10 p.m. The Travelers have not announced what pitcher would get the start in that case. San Antonio has announced veteran Josh Geer (1-0, 3.00 in postseason) will pitch the fifth game.

Fans are encouraged to use any 2013 Travelers admission coupon, which will be honored at any playoff game at the Dickey-Stephens Park box office. Tickets can also be purchased online at Travs.com or by calling (501) 664-1555. Gates open one hour before first pitch for all Texas League Championship Series games.
