Bike Adventures Workshop in North Little Rock

Event offers lessons on youth bike safety, maintenance.<br>
There's a bike adventures workshop for kids 5 to 12-years-old in North Little Rock on Saturday.

Organizers say with traffic expanding and yards shrinking, it's important for kids to understand how to stay safe and keep their bicycles in proper working order.

The three-hour workshop is free and begins at 9AM at the North Little Rock City Services Building, 120 Main Street.

It will be organized into the following stations:
  • bike check and fit
  • helmet check and fit
  • bike handling skills
  • street and intersection skills
  • sharing the road with other traffic.
Kids are encouraged to bring their own bikes and helmets. They will receive goody bags and be able to register for giveaways throughout the event, including helmets, bike locks, and two children's bicycles.

Radio Disney will be on hand from 9-10AM to provide entertainment.

The event is sponsored by the City of North Little Rock's Fit 2 Live Program, North Little Rock Bicycle Friendly Community Committee, Bicycle Advocacy of Central Arkansas, League of American Bicyclists, Arkansas Department of Health - Hometown Health Improvement, and River Trail Rentals.
