ASP Reports Show Deadly Weekend on Arkansas Roads

Four people have died in accidents since Saturday.

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Arkansas State Police investigators are reporting four deadly accidents around the state this weekend.

22-year-old Justin Watson died in an accident near Magnolia shortly after 1:00 a.m. Saturday.

According to the preliminary report, the car driven by Watson left Highway 19 and struck a tree.

Watson was pronounced dead on the scene.

A woman is dead after an accident east of Sheridan Saturday.

52-year-old Anita McBride died in the accident.

It happened around 4:00 p.m. on Highway 270.

McBride's Dodge Dakota left the road, struck a culvert and flipped.

One person is dead and two others hurt after a wreck shortly after midnight in Stone County.

59-year-old Paul Davis was killed in the accident.

The vehicle he was driving failed to negotiate a curve on State Highway 5 near Mountain View.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

The truck left the road and hit a culvert.

Davis, who was driving, was thrown from the truck and killed.

His two passengers were injured.

An Illinois man died after his vehicle hit a car parked on the side of Interstate 40 early Sunday morning.

56-year-old George Hines, Jr. died in the accident around 1:00 a.m.

It happened near the 252 mile marker on Interstate 40 in St. Francis County.

According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Hines' car veered off the road and struck the parked car.

The driver of the 2nd vehicle was injured.

The investigations are continuing.
