LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The Arkansas Arts Center will be hosting a new, inaugural event, Fountain Fest, on September 19 from 5:30 – 8 p.m. The event will benefit the Arkansas Arts Center and the Contemporaries auxiliary group. Named in part due its location, Fountain Fest will take place on the grounds of the Arts Center around the Carrie Remmel Dickinson Fountain. B“The ultimate goal of Fountain Fest is to raise money for the Contemporaries to donate a piece of art to the Arkansas Arts Center Collectors Show in December,” said Amy Hester, Contemporaries president elect. “We would like to also designate some of the proceeds to fund future Contemporaries projects.” Fountain Fest will include live music by the Funkanites, food from Whole Hog Café of North Little Rock, desserts from Cupcakes on Kavanaugh and drinks provided by Moon Distributors, Goose Island Brewing and Stone’s Throw Brewing as well as an interactive art experience. Fountain Fest event guests will have the opportunity to explore the newest, surprise public art installation at the Arts Center, which is scheduled to debut on Tues., Sept. 10. Tickets for the event are $25 for non-members and $10 for Contemporaries members. Sponsors for the event include: Whole Hog Café of North Little Rock, Moon Distributors, Goose Island Brewing, Stones Throw Brewing, Argenta Arts Foundation, Cupcakes on Kavanaugh, Hanks Fine Furniture, Joel’s Downtown and Yarn Mart.
