ADE Hosting 'Becoming an Ark. Teacher' Event

The event will take place from 9 a.m. until noon Nov. 2 at the Holiday Inn-Airport, located at 3201 Bankhead Drive in Little Rock.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) is hosting an event for citizens to gather information about the process of becoming a teacher in the Natural State.

ADE says Arkansans who have a non-education degree, along with high school and college students can get information about financial aid, teacher certification and Arkansas Professoinal Pathway to Educator Licensure (APPEL) programs.

"We are very excited about this annual teacher recruitment effort," Department of Education Commissioner Dr. Tom Kimbrell said in a news release. "The need for teachers continues to grow, especially in the math and science fields. This event will give interested Arkansans the opportunity to learn how they can fill this void."

The event will take place from 9 a.m. until noon Nov. 2 at the Holiday Inn-Airport, located at 3201 Bankhead Drive in Little Rock.

To register for this free event, go to adetrr.eventbrite.com, or contact Misty Harp, with the ADE Office of Teacher Recruitment and Retention, at (501) 682-6349.
