LITLE ROCK, AR -- The fifth annual Razorback-themed fundraiser is Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the AEDD Multipurpose Center, 105 East Roosevelt Road, located at the corner of Main Street and Roosevelt Road in the Quapaw Quarter area of Little Rock. Guests will feast on the event’s traditional “Hog Roast” BBQ with all the “fixin’s,” while quenching their thirst at a beverage bar sponsored by Glazer’s and bidding on over 140 great items in a silent and live auction featuring Razorback memorabilia as well as original art, home décor, holiday items, jewelry, gift baskets, and more. The AEDD Auxillary also hosts a VIP Reception from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. that include signature cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and door prizes. North Little Rock Funeral Home will be presented with the 2013 AEDD “Champion for a Cause” award honoring them for their above and beyond support of the organization. Proceeds from Hawgs for a Cause benefit over 400 children and adults with developmental disabilities that attend the AEDD Children’s Learning Center in North Little Rock and Lacy Landers Skills Training Center in Little Rock. This is a great way to get into the Hog spirit and celebrate Razorback football, while benefitting a worthy cause!
Tickets are $30 per person ($40.00 at the door) and $50 per person for VIP tickets (includes admission to VIP Party and access to the VIP room throughout the evening). (AEDD) is a private, non-profit organization that provides work opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities and AEDD Hosts 5th Annual “Hawgs for a Cause” Fundraiser services to children ages 6 weeks to five years old with developmental disabilities and/or delays in the central Arkansas area. AEDD is a United Way Agency and has served individuals with developmental disabilities since 1971.
AEDD owns the Lacy Landers Skills Training Center, a 60,000 square foot production facility in southwest Little Rock, maintained by a staff of both disabled and non-disabled workers with supervisory personnel to insure quality for all services provided. AEDD provides early intervention and preschool learning for children of all abilities at the Sammie Gail Sanders Children’s Learning Center in North Little Rock. The goal of AEDD is to maximize every client’s potential in the least restrictive and most appropriate environment possible.
