LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Former North Little Rock Mayor, Patrick Henry Hays, has been named Honorary Ride Chairman of The 2013 Big Dam Bridge 100, an event taking place on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Over 2,500 cyclists from across the state and nation will embark upon Central Arkansas to participate in this the eighth annual ride. Former Mayor Hays, well known for his 24 year career as Mayor of North Little Rock, played an integral role in building the Big Dam Bridge, and now has the opportunity to ride his bike over the bridge in a very different capacity—Honorary Ride Chair. “Having joined with Pulaski County Judge Buddy Villines, Former Little Rock Mayor Jim Dailey, along with numerous others, in bringing the Big Dam Bridge to Arkansas is at the very top of my personal list of successes as Mayor of North Little Rock. It’s now my intent to ride my third century (100 mile ride) on September 28th, joining thousands of other cyclists in participating in Arkansas’ largest cycling event—and cross the magnificence of the structure we fondly know as The Big Dam Bridge.” Said Former Mayor Hays.
