Statewide Alcohol Sales Initiative Turns in More Signatures

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Supporters of a statewide alcohol sales ballot initiative have turned in more signatures to the Secretary of State’s office (SoS).

They had turned in over 80,000 in July but were 17,133 valid signatures short. They needed 78,133 verified signatures to get the measure on the ballot.

The SoS has 30 days to count the additional signatures and certify them for the ballot.

Initiative leader David Couch says he thinks the total for the entire time he’s collected signatures is 125,000 and thinks about 91,000 of them are valid.

The SoS says Minimum Wage supporters yet to turn in signatures and they have until the end of Monday to do so.
