The FDA has announced a recall on Kraft American Singles.
Kraft Foods Group voluntarily recalled 7,691 cases of the product because an ingredient used in the cheese was not stored in accordance with Kraft’s temperature standards.
According to the FDA, although it is unlikely, the ingredient could create conditions that could lead to premature spoilage and/or food borne illness.
The recall was issued as a precaution and the company has not had reports of customer illness. Four varieties with “Best When Used By” dates of Feb. 20, 2015 and Feb. 21, 2015 are affected.
