The Young Manufacturers Academy is designed to reach students in 6-11 grade who are interested in careers in manufacturing.
The robotics competition teaches students important workforce skills like critical thinking, problem solving and customer service.
One judge says this is a great opportunity for kids to learn about this particular career field.
"It's a great opportunity, it's an opportunity to expose these kids to manufacturing and to get the understanding that manufacturing is actually a sustainable career for them," says Michael Garner.
Almost 600 students have participated in the Young Manufacturers Academy sessions in late July and early August.
