After watching from a distance, people finally got the chance to get inside their homes and begin cleaning up.
One family couldn't afford to stay in a hotel any longer, so they moved back home on Thursday.
Being inside for the first time in weeks, Glynn Banks found damaged floors, furniture that's no longer usable and mold.
Folks spent hours cleaning up what they could in this Brinkley neighborhood.
Banks said, "Just pray that some help is coming, that's all we can do."
Brinkley residents noticed the water finally going down on Wednesday and every day it get's better.
The governor did not declare Brinkley a disaster area, so no financial assistance has been provided.
Right now families will need to rely on insurance, if they have it.
