SCOTT, AR -- The US Open Water Ski Championship was held in the Natural State for the very first time this weekend.
Some of the best skiers in the world gathered on Bullneck Lake in Scott Arkansas to compete for titles in slalom, tricks, jumping, and overall events.
Athletes traveled from as far away as Germany and Australia.
Brittney Greenwood -- a local competitor -- talks about how nervous she feels before performing the dangerous water stunts.
"Well for me, it's pretty fun. I actually go to school with some of these people, so I know them pretty well," says Greenwood. "But everybody has the same nerves going into each competition and knowing you are pretty much competing against a friend, but on the water, they are your enemies. It's kind of tough."
Greenwood -- who is no stranger to competing on an international level -- came in third place today.
