HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, AR -A Central Arkansas community where a woman was attacked and killed by a dog has voted in favor of putting tighter animal control laws on the books.

Back in November, Joan Kappen, 75, was mauled by a bull mastiff while walking in Hot Springs Village.

The Property Owners Association will now ask Garland and Saline counties to pass a strict high-risk breed ordinance.

Each county's quorum court will have to make a decision on the matter.
