BEEDEVILLE, AR -- The National Weather service has confirmed that it was an EF1 tornado that hit the town of Beedeville in Jackson County Friday.
The 50-yard-wide tornado reached winds of 110 miles per hour and was on the ground for two miles.
The storm badly damaged a 40x50 ft. aircraft hangar and destroyed a shop building.
Pieces of the shop were spread out across farm fields for more than a quarter mile.
Several power poles were blown down as well.
The area near Highway 37 received the brunt of the damage.
This makes the ninth tornado in Arkansas this year.
