BATESVILLE, AR -- Hundreds of voters in Independence County are preparing to fight a proposed annexation into Batesville.
The City Council moved its final vote on the issue to Monday night.
Batesville's mayor wants to bring in approximately 2,400 people from surrounding communities to attract new businesses.
The move would raise property and sales taxes for annexed homeowners.
Those opposing the move plan to present their case before the council at Monday's meeting.
