Howl Yes! A-State in Mobile, Ready for GoDaddy Bowl
MOBILE, AL (News release) - The Arkansas State football team conducted its second practice in Mobile, Ala., Friday at 3 p.m. in preparation for Sunday's GoDaddy Bowl against Ball State.
The Red Wolves worked out in helmets at the practice facility at the University of South Alabama on another windy and cool day in Mobile. A-State participated in drills before the offense and defense went through team exercises on opposite sides of the field. Arkansas State got in several periods of special teams practice before the first and second team offensive and defensive units competed against each other to conclude practice.
“I think we have total comprehension of our game plan, and I think we’re in good shape right now,” said interim head coach John Thompson. “We’ve got mature guys who understand what’s going on, and I thought we had a good day today. We’re looking forward to the game Sunday night.”
Arkansas State is scheduled to practice Saturday morning to continue preparing for the GoDaddy Bowl. The Red Wolves (7-5) will play Ball State (10-2) Jan. 5 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in a game televised by ESPN. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
After Saturday’s practice, the Red Wolves have a couple of activities planned including a team luncheon and tour at the USS Alabama and the Mardi Gras Parade at 6:30 p.m. that will travel in front of the team hotel.
Bowl tickets are only $45 per ticket when purchased through the A-State Ticket Office. Fans can go to AStateRedWolves.com and click on ‘Bowl Game Central’ (astateredwolves.com/bowlgame) to order tickets.
The A-State Ticket Office will also be selling tickets at A-State’s team hotel, the Renaissance Riverview Plaza, Jan. 4 between 2-6:30 p.m.
