LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The housing market shows signs of improvement as home sales rise in Arkansas.
The Arkansas Realtors Association says home sales in Arkansas were 10% higher this July in than July of last year.
Nearly 500 homes were sold in Pulaski County last month.
The average sales price for a home was $190,000.
David Austin of Charlotte John Co. says the low prices explain the boost in sales.
"It's a wonderful place to get a phenomenal home for the money. Sometimes houses sell themselves. As realtors, we kind of sell neighborhoods," Austin said.
Realtors say they have also seen people with more interest in moving into 'urban' area homes as opposed to the city's outskirts and suburban areas.
