BAUXITE, AR - A judge has ruled in favor of the City of Bauxite and dismissed a lawsuit filed by a former councilperson.
Deborah Purifoy filed a suit against Bauxite and several current and former city officials claiming misconduct and civil rights violations.
Purifoy had been convicted in city court of refusing to submit to arrest and obstructing governmental operations during an investigation involving her neighbors.
Federal Judge Brian Miller says Purifoy failed to offer evidence that her arrest was politically retaliation.
Purifoy can appeal the judge's ruling.
