CONWAY, AR -- The search for a capital murder suspect lead police officers to a Conway hotel early this morning.
Police were looking for 30-year-old Steven Swanigan for the murder of Garland County Woman April 30th.
According to the police, Swanigan ran from the Economy Inn on East Oak Street and got away by escaping down a creek bed.
Sean Cannady of the Conway Police Department says his escape has a lot of people worried.
"Definitely a lot of people showing concern because of toad suck...worried that he may show up down there again. I find it highly unlikely that he would go to such an area but we have several extra officers on patrol," Cannady said.
Garland County deputies say Swanigan shot three people Wednesday -- including a 20-month-old infant.
The baby survived and another victim sustained only minor injuries. A 26-year-old woman died from her injuries.
Anyone with information of Swanigan's whereabouts is asked to call law enforcement.
