BENTON, AR - Two men are jailed in a business burglary after which police say a 3-year-old child was found inside a vehicle belonging to one of them.
It happened Sunday morning just before 5 at Tractor Supply, located along Interstate 30.
According to the police report, officers were called to the scene by an alarm and found a U-Haul truck backed up to the back of the building with merchandise in it from the business.
Officers then saw three suspects running from the business and ran after them. After a short foot chase one suspect, later identified as James Weddle, 47, was caught right away. Another suspect, identified as Adam Darrough, 26, was later apprehended in the area by officers. A third suspect that was involved was not located in the area, but detectives are working to find him.
It was determined by detectives that the U-Haul truck had been stolen from Little Rock just before the burglary. Police say the lock on the back gate to Tractor Supply was found to have been cut and a zero-turn lawnmower belonging to the business was found inside the U-Haul truck.
Weddle and Darrough are both charged with Commercial Burglary, Theft of Property, Theft by Receiving, and Criminal Mischief. Additionally, Darrough was also charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor due to the fact that he left his 3-year-old child in a separate vehicle at the crime scene.
