LITTLE ROCK, AR (News Release) – The campaign for Democratic gubernatorial nominee Mike Ross announced today that it has raised more than $5 million so far in Ross’ bid for governor, according to his July monthly fundraising report filed with the Secretary of State. The Ross campaign said it raised more than $300,000 in the month of July, and ended the month with $343,649.82 cash on hand. The Ross campaign spent just over $1.2 million in July, of which $1.1 million was spent to buy television advertising for the fall that has yet to air.
Statement from Dustin Smith, Deputy Campaign Manager for Finance:
“Because of the outpouring of support Mike has received from all over Arkansas, we have now raised more than $5 million so far in this campaign, and our strong fundraising allows us to continue organizing aggressive media buys and historic get-out-the-vote operations as we approach Election Day. In fact, last month, we purchased more than $1 million in television advertising to secure a strong media presence in the last nine weeks of the campaign, and the money we raise from this point forward will help strengthen and expand that buy.
“With plans to strengthen education by increasing access to pre-k and workforce development, cut taxes, reduce domestic violence, protect seniors and create more and better-paying jobs, Mike’s vision for Arkansas’s future is resonating. We know that as more Arkansans get to know Mike and his record of fighting for working families and seniors, they will choose Mike Ross as their next governor.
