Working 4 You Update: School Files Federal Lawsuit Against Student and Mother

PARAGOULD, Ark. - A turn of events has taken place after a Northeast Arkansas family claimed their high school senior had been blocked from attending school because officials had refused to comply with her disability by giving her food and drink throughout the day...

Greene County Tech School District responded by filing a federal lawsuit against high school senior Mallory Wilson and her mother.

The school requires a doctor's note or liability waiver for the girl to return. They allege that because Mallory's mother won't give them access or consent to medical disclosures (after the school sought and received medical information in breach of HIPPA related to the swallow study) that the federal court needs to issue an injunction ordering Ms. Wilson to release the medical records.

The school makes no mention of the requirements for the liability waiver they have requested from Wilson, nor the demands that she or her daughter be the persons required to provide those services at the outset.
