NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Another death in North Little Rock, this time a fire to blame.
Officials say the flames ripped through the Eastgate Terrace apartment in the 600 block of 9th Street just before 9 a.m. Saturday.
When police first got on the scene, they couldn't get inside.
Firefighters then arrived and tried to save the woman in a wheelchair trapped inside.
She was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead there. The victim was identified Monday as Judith Hughes Melton, 54.
Neighbors say the victim was well-known and well-liked.
Aeeisha Rafter knew the victim and said, "It's hurtful because my children loved her, she loved my children, they would help her do her laundry, I mean she was a good person that's so sad to see (cries) ....that's sad to see".
No word yet on what may have sparked the fire.
The body was found after a boating accident Friday night.
