Woman Kidnapped, Jumps from Car in Hot Springs

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Police are looking for two suspects after a woman reports being kidnapped.

The victim told officers she was able to get away when the vehicle she had been placed inside stopped. She said she managed to open the door and jump out from the back seat even though her hands, feet, mouth and eyes had been duct-taped.

The Hot Springs Police Department says officers found the woman at a Kroger store along Central Ave. just before 8 p.m. Wednesday.

She told police she knew her captors, whom she said placed her in a vehicle and drove away. She told officers the vehicle eventually stopped and she could see lights through an opening in the duct tape.

Witnesses said the car sped off after the woman escaped and started screaming. It was described as a gold-colored BMW.

The HSPD said Thursday it would not yet release the names of the victim or suspects, adding it's believed the kidnapping was drug-related.
