Woman Arrested for Hitting, Killing Pine Bluff Man with Car

PINE BLUFF, Ark. -A man was killed after being hit by two vehicles early Wednesday morning in Pine Bluff.

Police say that the incident happened around 3:40 a.m. along Martha Mitchell Expressway.

According to reports, 45-year-old, Dewayne Jackson was walking West in the traffic lane with his back towards oncoming traffic. Officials say that Jackson was struck by a 1999 Nissan Maxima driven by Nia Blade, 22, and then moments later  hit by another vehicle. 

Blade is being held in the Jefferson County Jail  on probable cause of Negligent Homicide as well as charges of DWI, Driving on a Suspended Driver's License and No Proof of Insurance. 

Authorities say that they do not expect charges against the driver of the second vehicle.
