POTTSVILLE, Ark. -- A Union Pacific train struck a vehicle that stalled on the railroad tracks around 6:30 p.m. Officials say no one was injured in the crash.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle called 911 when their vehicle stalled on the tracks.
The message was relayed to Union Pacific, but not in time to stop the collision, according to a spokesperson for the company.
It happened on East Ash Street, near the intersection with U.S. Highway 64.
The vehicle was pushed down the tracks, officials say.
A cleanup crew is removing the debris, and the train is expected to be moving before 9 p.m.
In addition to 911 systems, Union Pacific says there are unique phone numbers at rail crossings that can be used to notify authorities of an emergency.
