LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Police have identified the victim and drivers involved in a fatal pedestrian accident.
The incident happened around 10:40 a.m. at 6th and Broadway on Feb. 5.
Police have identified the victim as Maria Borja, 47, of Alexander.
In a police report released on Wednesday, the drivers have been identified as two men in their early twenties.
The official report states that a 2017 Nissan Sentra was traveling south on Broadway in the inside lane. The second vehicle, a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, was traveling west on W. 6th street in the center lane. Police say that both vehicles entered the intersection and collided with each other. The force of the collision pushed both vehicles into the southwest corner of the intersection.
Police say the victim, Maria Borja, was standing on the sidewalk at the southwest corner of the intersection, appearing to wait to cross the street when the incident occurred.
Officials say when the vehicles collided they were forced into Borja. Police say she was thrown airborne approximately 80 feet.
MEMS arrived and transported Borja to UAMS where she was later pronounced dead by medical officials.
Officers are asking witnesses to come forward.
The incident is still under investigation.
