LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A local man has been identified as the victim of a Tuesday night robbery-turned-homicide.
In a news release issued late Wednesday morning, the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) said Eric Gavin, 45, was found dead inside a house in the 1300 block of W. 19th St. when officers were called to the scene around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday.
A woman police spoke to inside the home told officers that two black males had forced their way in and one of them ordered her to go to the back of the house. She said the other suspect stayed with the victim, who was sitting on a couch. She said she then heard a single gunshot before both suspects ran from the house and she called 911.
Police say they learned the victim's name after his body was taken to the State Crime Lab for autopsy and identification, through fingerprints.
