LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A teen who died after being shot on a grocery store parking lot overnight has been identified by police.
The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) says Brent Cartwright, 19, of Little Rock, had been wounded at 6420 Colonel Glenn Road and was dropped off at a hospital emergency room.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Officers were dispatched to the parking lot after several calls came in reporting a large crowd of people and vehicles loitering there.
When police arrived, they were told there had been a shooting on the parking lot. Officers found where it had happened and set up a crime scene.
They later learned that the shooting victim had been dropped off at CHI St. Vincent, where he died soon after.
Homicide detectives and crime scene officers were called in to gather evidence and reported finding several bullet strikes to a Kroger store and the surrounding businesses.
The LRPD says investigators do not yet have any suspect information.
