Update: Arrest Made in Hot Springs Murder near Nightclub

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Police have made an arrest in the July 16 shooting death of a man near a local nightclub.

The Hot Springs Police Department (HSPD) says Kirkland Eugene Litzsey (photo above), 30, of Malvern, is jailed on a charge of First Degree Murder in the killing of Timothy Martin, 37.

Martin was found dead inside his car in a parking lot across the street from Boot Scooters at 421 Broadway.

The HSPD says Litzsey was arrested on Tuesday in Little Rock by U.S. Marshals and U.S. Probation and Parole. 

He is being held at the Garland County Detention Center without bond.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation and there may be additional arrests.

Update (July 17):
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Police say the victim in a weekend homicide was "individually targeted," and the case "does not appear to be random."

A news release issued by the Hot Springs Police Department (HSPD) on Monday shared a few new details about the Sunday murder.

The release states that the body of the victim (Timothy Martin, 37), was found inside a 2007 Infiniti G35 which was parked on the side of Broadway St. across from Boot Scooters. At the time of the shooting, Boot Scooters was open for business.

HSPD detectives are continuing their investigation, conducting follow-ups and interviews.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - A man is dead after an early morning shooting in Hot Springs.

The victim has been identified as Timothy Martin, 37, of Hot Springs.

Police say shortly after 1:15 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a shots fired call at Boot Scooters in the 400 block of Broadway.

They found Martin's body inside a car in the parking lot of the business.

The Hot Springs Police Department (HSPD) says investigators are interviewing witnesses and following up on leads.

So far there is no information available about a suspect.

The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board reviewed issues concerning security at Boot Scooters last fall.
