Update: Helena West Helena Attempted Murder Suspect Caught

PHILLIPS COUNTY, Ark. - A man who was on parole for murder, and was wanted by Helena-West Helena Police for attempted murder, has been caught Wednesday evening. 
 
Andrew Ewing, 35, was captured in the town of Elaine in Phillips County. 
 
Police believe Ewing is responsible for shooting a man in the neck at a convenient store Tuesday.
 
According to Chief Virgil Green, Ewing shot David Clark III March 7 shortly after 4 p.m. in the area of Sebastian and North 2nd Street near A-Z Food Mart.
 
Clark was taken to Helena Regional Hospital, alert and in stable condition. He was then airlifted to Memphis hospital. 
 
Police say there were several eye-witnesses to the shooting, including an off-duty Helena West Helena Police Officer. 
 
Investigators suspect that this incident may be related to some type of ongoing disturbance between Clark and Ewing. 
 
Ewing was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2002 for 2nd Degree Murder. He was released on parole in August 2014.
