Update: Conway Mom Pleads Not Guilty, Accused of Trying to Suffocate Baby

Update (Nov. 6, 2017):
CONWAY, Ark. - A local mom accused of trying to kill her baby has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Shannon Heather, 31, appeared before a judge on Monday morning. She has been in jail since Sept. 23.

She faces a charge of Attempted Murder.

The judge ruled that her bond of $250,000 would remain in place.

Update (Oct. 16, 2017):
CONWAY, Ark. - Shannon Heather was in court on Monday. 

The state reported that in the process of filing charges the court put her in another hearing for Nov. 6. 

Heather is the Conway mom accused of trying to suffocate her 7 month-old. 

Original story (Sept. 26, 2017):
CONWAY, Ark. - A local mother is jailed on $250,000 bond after being accused of trying to suffocate her 7-month-old child.

The Conway Police Department says Shannon Heather, 31, faces a charge of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in the Second Degree.

Police say the alleged incident happened Friday at a home on Club Lane and was reported by the woman's husband. 

Heather was booked into the Faulkner County Jail on Saturday.

An Oct. 16 court date has been set in the case.
