LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - It's been called the Physical Privacy Bill, the Bathroom Bill, and now Monday, opponents call it the Nonsense Bill...
Monday afternoon on the steps of the State Capital, Arkansans sounded off against Senate Bill 774.
The bill would prohibit people from using bathrooms and locker rooms in government funded buildings, like schools, that don't match their gender at birth.
Bill sponsor, Senator Linda Collins-Smith, said this is something that would protect all Arkansans.
"I think that's a misconception everyone that I've talked to when they read the bill they're like oh ok, because the bill truly is about all people all dignity making sure all area safe and feel comfortable," said Senator Collins-Smith.
But others argue it would do just the opposite.
"We talk about protecting the children, protecting the children, and these laws and bills being passed will do nothing more than hurt the children," said Rae Nelson.
Ruling announced Monday from nation's highest court.
