LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Two suspects accused in the Nov. 2016 shooting death of a 2-year-old girl were back in a local courtroom on Thursday.
Larry Jackson, 17 (top photo below), and Deshaun Rushing, 21, have been jailed since their arrests in May. Both face a charge of Capital Murder, along with other charges related to the drive-by shooting on S. Harrison Street.
Ramiya Reed died after being shot in the chest on Nov. 22 as she rode in a car while being held in her mother's arms.
During the court appearance, Jackson's attorney filed a motion asking that the case against the teen be moved to Juvenile Court. A trial date was not set for Jackson.
In the case against Rushing, the judge set a trial date of Feb. 6, along with a Dec. 4 omnibus hearing.
In the courtroom on Thursday, family members of the victim sat in a back row, all wearing t-shirts with Ramiya's photo on them.
