BENTON, Ark. - Saline County residents reporting a rash of burglaries.
The thieves are targeting ATV's among other items.
Jim Mitchell moved to his home in Bauxite in January. He enjoyed the privacy he thought it gave him, until his son's ATV was stolen off his property.
"There's enough tree coverage and foliage that they should not have been able to see it," he said.
Now the 1,500 dollar four-wheeler is added to the list of missing items in Saline County.
Two other ATV's and a trailer were reported missing from Benton on Thursday.
Surveillance video shows a man helping himself to a fruit stand and breaking open the cash drop box earlier in the week too. That burglary happened just a block from Mitchell's home.
"It's the fact that you work hard you are in the money and you buy the stuff and then next thing you know it's gone," Mitchell said.
Mitchell has his own theory as to why some of these high ticket items are being targeted.
"Here we are going into September, may be nothing more than people looking for a way to make quick cash on selling to deer hunters."
But now he's looking to install new lights on his property and other elements of protection.
"It's going to be at your own risk that you enter this property if you've got bad intentions."
Mitchell and his son are keeping a close eye on social media and other internet sites just in case their items are put up for sale.
If you have any information that could help locate these stolen items, contact police.
