Thieves Hit Mr. Halloween Days Before Holiday

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-- A treat for a community was hit by thieves' trickery. A Little Rock grandfather said his elaborate, Halloween decorations were stolen from his yard.

He said he found out he's not the only person who is having to replace missing decor.

Many neighbors know Otis Schiller as Mr. Halloween.

For more than 20 years he has been decorating his yard for Halloween. He said this year is the first year he has ever had to deal with thieves.

He said he hand picks or designs every decoration.

"I don't know. My wife says I'm really warped but I love it," Schiller said.

On Sunday we saw families like 4-year-old Mason's drive-up to check out the decor near Markham and Sun Valley.

Mason told our reporter Price McKeon, "The bride lost his guy."

Even Mason knew something was not right.

Otis said, "The clown I had stolen the other night was stolen right here and he was looking forward this way."

Schiller said his surveillance cameras caught at least 2 guys snatching his 6-foot 5-inch clown and a bride's groom- Frankenstein.

Mason's mom Melissa said, "It's Halloween. I understand pranks but you shouldn't have done it."

The grandpa moved his focus to his backyard after what happened around 1 last Thursday morning.

He has been scrambling ever since to replace Frankenstein with only days left until trick-or-treaters like Mason show up.

"Not so much the money. It's just that it was just the principal. That's what I'm saying the principal."

He said since he posted what happened on social media other people reached out to him saying they got hit last week too.

Mason said, "It's going to come back. Frankenstein is going to come back."

Mr. Halloween said it will because no trick will take away this treat.

He said he hopes the suspects will drop off the props where they found him- in his yard.
