Texarkana Man Tells Police He Stabbed, Buried His Girlfriend

TEXARKANA, Ark. - A missing woman's body was found Wednesday after her boyfriend reportedly admitted to stabbing her and led police to her body.
Crystal Reed, 35, was reported missing around 4 p.m. Tuesday by her mother, Janice Reed.
Janice told police Crystal and her boyfriend, Tony Taylor, 56, had gotten into a fight and Crystal left her apartment. She said she last talked to her daughter on Monday evening. When Crystal didn't show up to work Tuesday and wasn't answering her cell phone, Janice reported her missing.
Texarkana Police Detectives say they began investigating Crystal's disappearance Wednesday and, almost immediately, they found that Taylor had left blankets, rubber boots, rubber gloves and a shovel at a friend's house in Texarkana early Tuesday morning.
After detectives confirmed that Crystal wasn't answering her cell phone or at work, they got a search warrant for Crystal's apartment. Detectives found evidence that led them to believe foul play played a role in Crystal's disappearance.
Detectives say they found Taylor at a house near E. 24th and Jefferson in Texarkana around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. When they brought Taylor in for interviewing, they say Taylor confessed that there had been a physical argument late Monday night. He said that during the fight, he stabbed Crystal in the chest with a knife and she died.
Taylor then led police to the spot where he buried Crystal's body, a shallow grave in a remote wooded area east of Ogden.
Taylor was then taken to the Bi-State Justice Building, placed under arrest and charged with 1st Degree Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Crystal’s body was sent to Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown where it will be held until an autopsy at the Arkansas State Crime Lab Medical Examiner’s Office can be performed.
