Social Media Post Helps Hot Springs Police Find Theft Suspect

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - A local woman has been arrested and charged with fraudulent use of a credit card and theft by receiving.

The Hot Springs Police Department (HSPD) says Autumn Partington, 23, was taken into custody Thursday by the Cabot Police Department.

Partington’s fraud and theft charges stem from her stealing credit card information while working as a waitress at a Hot Springs restaurant, the HSPD says. According to an arrest affidavit, Partington was linked to two online orders that were paid for with a stolen credit card number.

After warrants were issued for Partington’s arrest, she was placed on the HSPD Facebook page in early January as part of the HSPD Warrant Wednesday.

Investigators soon learned that Partington had left the Hot Springs area and was in the Cabot area.

Police say they tracked down Partington after she posted a photograph of herself on her Instagram page with the caption, “i luv my job,” in which she was wearing an apron with a Cabot business name.

After her arrest in Cabot, Partington was taken back to Hot Springs and booked into the Garland County Detention Center. Her bond is set at $6,500.

The HSPD says social media and HSPD’s Warrant Wednesday continue to be a valuable asset in locating and arrested wanted individuals.
