SHERWOOD, Ark.- Farm-to-home could soon be backyard-to-home in the city of Sherwood thanks to a new ordinance.
Starting Friday a new animal services ordinance will take effect. Meaning people living with in the city limits can have up to 12 chickens, two sheep, goats or pot-bellied pigs.
You can even have a horse if you live on the proper acreage. With the new addition of the ordinance, some say it could be a good opportunity to teach kids about farm life.
"I would love to have chickens and all of that just for my grandkids to get to go out and gather the eggs," Donna Devine, a Sherwood resident.
The new ordinance will be the first time in years that the city has revamped it says the Sherwood animal director.
