CENTRAL ARKANSAS - After storms blew through central Arkansas Tuesday evening, a second round of severe weather slammed an area that extended from central to northern Arkansas knocking out power to roughly 35,000 customers.
As of 6 a.m., Independence, Jackson, and Mississippi Counties were among the hardest hit by power outages. Entergy Arkansas was reporting 32,000 outages while First Electric Co-op reported about 4,000.
Strong wind gusts caused the majority of the problems across the region. We also received many reports of small hail.
The system is expected to be out of the state by later this morning
