LAKELAND, Tenn. (WMC) - Shelby County Sheriff's Office deputies have captured a 13-year-old who stole his grandmother's car and drove hundreds of miles.
Deputies caught the teen in Lakeland, Tennessee, on Thursday morning. The town is a little east of Memphis.
Officials said the car was stolen from a home on Mann Lane in Saline County, Arkansas--nearly 200 miles away from Lakeland.
Deputies said the boy was heading to Connecticut to visit his girlfriend.
OnStar tracking helped law enforcement find the car.
The car was stopped at Chambers Chapel Rd. and Interstate 40.
