Pine Bluff Police Investigating Homicide at an Apartment Complex

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - A local man is jailed on a murder charge after police say he shot another man at an apartment complex over the weekend.

The Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD) says Gwatney Akins, 41 (photo below), is charged in the shooting death of Charles Tennie, 47, at the Broadmoor Arms Apartments.

The PBPD says officers found Tennie outside on the ground floor of Building 6. They say he had suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 7:52 p.m. Sunday. 
Police found Akins in apartment #47 of Building 6. He is being held on a charge of 1st degree Murder. 

This is the 8th homicide in Pine Bluff for 2017.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - An argument between two men led to a deadly shooting Sunday evening.

That's according to the Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD), which says it happened around 7 p.m. at the Broadmoor Arms Apartments on S. Wisconsin Street.

The victim has been identified as Charles Tennie, 47. Police say he was found unresponsive in a common area between buildings.

The suspect was taken into custody from an upstairs unit.
