PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. - Construction work on the I-430/State Highway 10 interchange will require some temporary lane closures this weekend.
The closures will allow the contractor to conduct blasting operations for the new ramp being built that will carry traffic from westbound Highway 10 to northbound I-430.
Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials issued the following schedule in a Friday morning news release.
- Weather permitting; workers will close all northbound and southbound lanes of I-430 near Exit 10, for 15-minute intervals from 6 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 22 and from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 23.
- Weather permitting; workers will close all eastbound and westbound lanes of State Highway 10 (Cantrell Rd.) for 15-minute intervals from 6 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 22 and from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 23.
Traffic on both highways will be slow-rolled to a complete stop by the Arkansas Highway Police. Once the blast occurs, each highway will be swept for debris and reopened. There are no detours. Again, each closure is expected to only last 15 minutes.
The AHTD advises drivers to be aware of all advanced warning signs and traffic drums and to exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
